Muir Woods hiking tour with incredible vistas.  This 5 hour guided walking tour includes Mount Tam, ocean view vistas, old growth redwoods, steep elevation up and down with a rewarding gourmet picnic at the top of Mount Tamalpais.  This is a pretty steep hike and we of course supply bottled water to keep you hydrated.  You will be invigorated for sure after this amazing adventure guided hike of approximately four miles.  At the top of Mount Tam you will have 360 degree views of the ocean, San Francisco and Marin County.  (think of the selfies you could take!)  Or let us take the photos for you.  If you prefer a more mellow hike see our other tours at www.walkmarin.com.

We begin in Mill Valley where you are driven to the start of our hiking adventure. On this 5 mile hike, expect to experience old growth redwoods with lush and abundant Fern overgrowth. It's like hiking on a plush carpet. You will also see views of the Pacific Ocean and learn about the Historic Gravity Train and the rich history of the Coast Miwok People.

Embracing the 1,500 to 2,000 ft elevation drop with fresh oxygen away from the San Francisco City Streets, stop and take in a panaramic 360 vista view at top of the Mt. Tam East Peak Visitor Center.

We highly encourage you to take your time enjoying the state park, as well as plenty of pictures. Your knowledgeable local guide will also point out the best viewpoints! The trail back will have an incline and at the top we will sit on the patio of the Inn and take in the breathtaking views around us. At this point, our nice picnic lunch will be well deserved.
